Phil Neel illustrated Vintage 1964 Auburn Football Orange Bowl Brochure for the 1964 Orange Bowl played on January 1, 1964 when Auburn played the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The 64 page brochure is 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" and includes Facts about Auburn, Info on the Football team - players, coaches, 1963 season, Auburn's Bowl History, as well as Nebraska stats and roster info.

The cover is a typical Phil Neel and it has Aubie carrying a bowl of oranges that have the AU game scores from the 1963 season. There is writing on both the front and back - looks like the original owner's name in blue ink. The staples are loosing their grip from the paper especially on the last page.

There is some water damage with some discoloration along the spine which has bled through on inside front and back cover. On the back cover there are two places that appear to be puncture creases. I did not see any other marks after briefly flipping through the pages.

These Phil Neel illustrated football brochures are not as widely available as some of the regular game programs for which he's so widely known. As with most all Phil Neel illustrated programs, it's all about the cover. This is a very unique one but it is also a special piece since it was from a major New Year's Day Bowl.

If you are an Auburn fan and Phil Neel collector, this is a gem that will surely make your collection shine. This program comes from part of my husband's Auburn / Phil Neel collection (see pic) which is stored in a smoke-free / pet-free, climate controlled environment.
