Rose Bowl 1961 Washington Huskies National Champs Autographed Football

This is not a ball used in the game, but it does have most of the 1961 Husky National Championship team signatures. It is 57 years old. It was given to me by my brother-in-law, Ben Davidson following the game in 1961 (Jan 1). Ben was on the 1959 and 1960 Rose Bowl winning teams. That being said it must be pointed out that this ball is not certified except by me as I have had it in my possession since receiving it.

Many of the signatures are faded and the ball shows its age. Unfortunately, Bob Schloredt's signature is probably the worst. I can only say that I know where it was since I had the ball before it was smeared and I probably was involved in that smearing. The signatures vary between very good and poor. Overall, I rate this ball as good and it is certainly rare.

I have photographed many of the signatures, but they are so randomly placed I could not get them all and some are unreadable. Here they are in order of picture number #1Score and Date, Duane Locknane.

#2 Roy McKasson, Kurt Gegner, John Meyers, Jake Kupp. #3 Kermit Jorgensen, Dave Enslow, Glen Kezer, Larry Clanton, Pete Greenlee, Don Carnahan.

#4 Ray Jackson, Barry Bullard, Pat Claridge, (Bill) Kinnune, Ray Mansfield (on white). #6 Sam Hurworth, Dick Dunn, Bob Hivner, Ben Davidson. #8 Charlie Mitchell, Bob Schloredt (poor), Bob Ridgeway.

#9 Dave Phillips, Ricardo Mario Aguirre. #10 Jake Kupp, John Meyers. #11 Tony Kopay, Vance Hanson(poor), Lee Folkins, Stan Chapple, Rod Scheyer, #12 Don Meketa. The following players did not sign the ball Andy Alkire, Chuck Allen, George Fleming, Joe Jones. The following players are on the ball, but not photographed Tim Bullard, John Nelson, Jim Skaggs.

There is also the problem of poor penmanship. This ball shows its age, but where are you going to find another one. The item "Rose Bowl 1961 Washington Huskies National Champs Autographed Football" is in sale since Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
