1916 Tournament of Roses Football Poster. Brown University vs State College of Washington, Pasadena-California. This stunning poster is a 1965 commemorative reprint created for the 50th Anniversary of the game. Interesting in that we are nearing the 54th anniversary of the reprintmore time has past since this reprinting than the time it commemorates! These were created in very limited numbers by the private estate of an alumnus.

This mint condition poster celebrates a New Years tradition which continues to this day. The Tournament of Roses begins on New Years morning with the famed parade down Colorado Avenue in Pasadena, California and ends with the sponsored college football game at the Rose Bowl stadium, just up the street. Anything early Rose Bowl is scarce and a handsome commemorative poster of this condition is certainly even more so.
