1916 Brown Washington State Rose Bowl Football Poster 1965 50th Reprint
Up for sale is (1) 1916 Brown University vs. State College of Washington Tournament of Roses Rose Bowl Game on New Year's Day in Pasadena, California 1965 Commemorative Reprint. This is a 1965 commemorative reprint created for the 50th Anniversary of the game. These were created in very limited numbers by the private estate of an alumnus.
This poster is printed by National Bickford Foremost and was authorized by the Brown University Archives and Brown Alumni Monthly. This poster is in very good condition and shows incredible reds and yellows. The poster is encased in a metal and plexiglass frame. There are a few blemishes to include a small punch thru on left side of poster halfway up (see photo). The Rose Bowl is a New Years tradition which continues to this day.
The Tournament of Roses begins on New Years morning and travels down Colorado Avenue in Pasadena, California and ends with the college football game at the Rose Bowl stadium.
